Brooches from the "Round-the-World Trip" series
The initial concept was brooches reflecting the culture of each nation, but at the first stage of work on the project, it was decided to reflect a look at a person's first impression, what he faces and what his feelings are in a new place.
brooch "MATER' "
Any country is a Mother. She is the progenitor of a unique culture and history. Each of them has exclusivity, unexplored. And at the same time, she radiates warmth, something unconsciously native, which attracts and pushes you to get to know her better. Creating a brooch, I was based on personal feelings from the image of my mother. In my understanding, this should not be a universally recognized ideal: it is a whole way of accepting all its shortcomings, as a result of which you admire and understand that the ideal is the totality of everything that is in it.
brooch "LIK"
The crowd is what meets us on the journey. A crowd of locals who move around guided by their lifestyle, way of life and tasks for the day. It is so bright and original that you do not have time to remember at least one person from the general mass. All this turns into one general and colorful stream and a face that remains in memory as a memory. In this work, I wanted to show the sameness of "faces in a crowd" and arouse a desire to explore it, looking for some new images and meanings.
